ABOUT FLINT HILL PTA

Flint Hill Elementary’s PTA has a long tradition of enriching student learning and bringing parents closer to their students through school. Over the years, the PTA has worked in close partnership with Principal Sal Rivera and the Flint Hill administration to promote healthy lifestyles, nurture kids’ appreciation for the environment and provide the Flint Hill teaching staff with advanced technology to enhance teaching and classroom management.

Did you know that Mr. Rivera challenges Flint Hill’s teachers to spend one hour of class time outside every week? In support, the PTA has organized parents to create outdoor classrooms in the courtyard. Previously the PTA partnered with other organizations to build the running track, which we still maintain. And over the past several years, the PTA has purchased Smart Boards for each classroom.

Flint Hill is known for having a strong and active PTA.  For school year 2009-10, the Virginia Congress of Parents & Teachers recognized Flint Hill's 100% participation by parents and teachers in the PTA.   We were awarded the Virginia PTA Superior Membership Achievement Award!
